We can’t always explain what we are being called to do. We can’t articulate the reason we know that God has equipped us for a specific journey. All we know is that he does equip us. He grows and changes us. He uses us, people in trials and in joys, to build his kingdom. He did it with the apostle Paul and he will do it with us, no explanation needed!
All we know is that we get to be a part of it.
Here at training, we spend a lot of time with our teams. As Captive Free East Lakes, we are learning about one another and building intentional relationship and community. Some of us really like logic and schedules, others prefer to walk the most beautiful path, even if it takes a little longer. We are slowly learning what makes each other tick, what strengths we bring, and what can have us all on the floor laughing in a matter of minutes.
It’s actually an amazing and inspiring process that I am so honored to be a part of.
In one of our team devotionals we read about how God has all humans as a work in progress. I read later that day in Ephesians 1:5 that “God decided…to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”
Even as a work in progress, in brokenness, and in desire to serve him and live his will without knowing the final outcome, God chooses to call us family. He finds joy in having us as his children. He finds pleasure in knowing that we are his.
And better yet, he is ours, too.
So welcome to a year with Captive Free East Lakes (14-15)! Here’s to making God’s plan our plan!
